With a seemingly bleak final six games coming for the New York Jets, we look ahead to the draft and whether to select an LT or edge rusher in round one.
Once again it is time to look ahead for the New York Jets. As far as the playoffs are concerned, not that anyone really expected a berth, are all but out of the question.
With a 3-7 record that is a virtual certainty. Sure, they could run the table and finish the year 9-7. But, with the Patriots representing two of the final six games, does anyone out there really believe that could happen?
By the way, there is also another game with that Bills team that just demolished the Jets by 31 points in their own building. Heading to Buffalo for the next one doesn’t bring much confidence.
So we move forward, and that means the popular topic of the NFL Draft. With the Jets rocketing towards another high draft pick, where do they go with it?
Much of the argument has been to draft an edge rusher. The idea is to give the defense that dominant presence that can make a play all by himself to turn a game around, close out a game, …etc.
Another theory is one of protecting the blind side. They could look for a left tackle to build the new offensive line around.
The majority rule says the edge rusher if you ask the fan base. Which one is right? Let’s go into detail on this topic.
