Former Jets draft pick Jacob Bender arrested on drug, weapon charges

Former Jets draft pick Jacob Bender is facing years behind bars following an arrest in Crofton, Maryland.

Bender is being brought up on multiple drugs and weapons charges after the police searched his home and found marijuana, oxycodone and numerous weapons, according to The Baltimore Sun. The Anne Arundel police received a search warrant to investigate after learning of various drug transactions occurring at Bender’s home.

Bender was an offensive lineman that was drafted by the Jets in the sixth round of the 2007 NFL draft. He only appeared in two games as a Jet before being waived by the team just before the 2008 season. He then bounced around several practice squads, including the Patriots, 49ers, Giants, Saints, Redskins and Panthers. In addition, he made an appearance for the Hartford Colonials in the UFL, as well as the York Capitals of the American Indoor Football league.

At the moment, Bender is being held without bail and currently does not have an attorney.
