The Jets have placed RB Isaiah Crowell on injured reserve and promoted RB De’Angelo Henderson to the active roster.
In his first season with the Green & White, Crowell led the team in rush yards (685) and touchdowns (six). In the Jets’ Week 5 victory over the Denver Broncos, Crowell established the franchise record with most rush yards in a game with 219. He produced that amount on 15 carries as his 14.6-yards per attempt was the best per-carry average for one game in NFL history for a player with at least 15 touches. In five NFL seasons, the 5’11”, 225-pound Crowell has rushed for 3,803 yards and totaled 27 rush scores.
Henderson has spent the majority of the 2018 campaign on the Jets’ practice squad and was activated to the 53-man roster for the team’s Week 8 matchup against the Bears. The second-year pro was released the following week and re-signed to the practice squad.
A sixth-round pick of the Broncos in the 2017 draft, the 5’7”, 208-pound Henderson appeared in five games last season for Denver and had nine touches including one scoring reception. The Coastal Carolina product played in 50 games for the Chanticleers and rushed for 4,635 yards and 58 touchdowns. Henderson also recorded 97 receptions for 921 yards and six scores.
