The Jets have placed WR Rishard Matthews on injured reserve and signed T Eric Smith off the Patriots’ practice squad.
Matthews, who joined the Green & White on Oct. 23rd, registered two catches in five games. The seventh-year veteran, who injured his hamstring Saturday night against the Texans, has totaled 3,160 receiving yards and 21 touchdowns on 230 career receptions.
Smith, a 6’4”, 308-pounder, was added to the New England practice squad in September. The Virginia product originally signed as a rookie free agent with Miami on May 5, 2017 and was released by the ‘Fins on Sep. 1, 2018.
