The Jets have made a wide receiver swap on their practice squad, signing WR ArDarius Stewart and terminating WR Deontay Burnett.
After serving a two-game NFL suspension to start the 2018 season, the Jets waived Stewart on Sept. 19. The Alabama product, who was selected in the third round of the 2017 draft, recorded 41 yards on five receptions in the preseason.
Last year, the 6’0”, 205-pounder tallied six receptions for 82 yards in 15 games. He also rushed the ball seven times for 27 yards.
Burnett, who played with quarterback Sam Darnold at USC, was signed by the Jets to join the practice squad on Sept. 3. He went undrafted in 2018 and signed with the Titans. The 6’0”, 170-pounder tallied 152 receptions for 1,897 yards and 16 touchdowns in three years for the Trojans.
