“I think [Mike McCarthy is] a great choice for any of these teams [with a coaching opening], but those two in particular [the Jets and Browns], because of the quarterback situation,” Favre told Sirius XM NFL Radio on Wednesday, adding, “I think what’s important with a coach and a quarterback is understanding their strengths and their weaknesses, and where they are in their developmental stage — and how you call plays and how much you place upon that [quarterback]. Too many times, I think coaches place too much on a young quarterback.”
