More to know about Jets: Sunday’s game will highlight the Jets 50th Anniversary of Super Bowl III, when the Jets rocked the sports world and the country on January 12, 1969, by becoming the first American Football League team to defeat an NFL team with their 16-7 victory over the Baltimore Colts. The Jets will recognize the team through a variety of appearances throughout the weekend. Saturday morning, the Jets will host the 1969 Championship team at practice, prior to an dinner in the evening. Sunday morning, the Legends will take part in a pre-game breakfast for Jets Rewards Members. During halftime, the Championship team will be honored during a ceremony, where family members and fans will have the opportunity to take part. During this Sunday’s game against the Colts, the Jets will recognize the Lupus Research Alliance as the social cause of the game.
